My new best friend, 2010-07-09 I've had laptops of all shapes and sizes and I adore this one! Love its' portability and battery life. Only thing I'd change is the touch mousepad thing as my finger wanders from it too much. But love it.
my new best friend, 2010-05-31 Really pleased with this lovely little computer.
Keyboard is no worse than a standard laptop and touch pad miles better.
With 4GB memory all applications just fly along - multitasking really is no problem. Windows 7 leaves XP and especially vista in the dust.
Battery life is FANTASTIC - one charge sees me through all day - In continuous use I clocked 9 hours!
Have not had to install any additional software - doesn't matter what you plug in - printer, DVD drive, MP3 Players, cameras, videos, router to set up wireless internet - all recognised on plug and play.
For long hours at home on the computer I was going to buy a new desktop - but have just plugged the Acer into keyboard and screen - not sure I will bother with a second computer!
Go on treat yourself.
brilliant little netbook, 2010-06-10 Easily my best netbook so far, out of six bought! Fast, good wireless range, bright screen, good multitasking, great value. Cant see the need for an i-pad as this does more or less everything that the i-pad can, but better and faster. OK not the touch screen, but I dont really need that.
Little wonder, 2010-07-03 Fantastic laptop. Battery live about 8 hours when surfing lightly. I could manage to install Sony Vegas Pro 9.0c, and render video for both standard DVD and Blueray!!. Of course for serious work i have I7 desktop, but this laptop can deal with heavy weight application. One minus is lack of Firewire. I recomment this.
Best small laptop yet!!, 2010-07-02 As an IT Tech this laptop is fab. I use this little machine at most jobs and it's never let me down. The keyboard is large and easy to use and the machine is so light. I have never had a laptop that can run so long on a batter in my life and I have had many over the years.
Spec is good for it's size and plenty of Ram. I will upgrade the hard drive to 500Gig in the future but is fine at the moment. The screen is very good and has a wide angle viewing point.
Webcam and skype calling is very good, network is good on LAN and wifi.
I have recommended this machine to a few people now and it's better than my Sony with blueray and higher spec. So this is the machine to look for if you need something bigger than a netbook and smaller than the average laptop but with good performance. I have a portable DVDRW so it's handy for this machine and it can write DVD and work on video editing no probs.
Take your time and read all the reviews on this machine and all the spec, and then see if you can find issues online of them not working!! I only found more reviews which was great as they have loads of details that I have not commented on..
Only other thing to mention, try out the HDMI on your TV with a mini wirless keyboard it's just magic all your web content movies BBCi and youtube...
For the IT lads XP and linux both work well on this machine but drivers can be a pain to find for older OS's
