Have regrets, 2010-04-29 I got this phone back in December. I was in a quandry whether to get this or the iPhone but decided to be different and go with this one having just broken my samsung camera I thought this would kill two birds with one stone. I.E decent phone and camera.
The camera is nice in fact I took a photo of my pet gourami fish and lots of people have told me they thought the phone had come with that pic as a screensaver.
There is a 'but' coming though. This phone keeps cutting out after I hve made a call. It's extremely annoying because once it happened and I had no idea and my boyfriend thought I was ignoring him! I have looked into this and it seems that this is a common fault and needs a software ugrade however I tried to do this but could not get it to work via the Satio website.
The other extremely annoying thing which other reviewers have noted is the fact that there is no way to increase the sensitivity of the touch screen.
A nice feature is that you can download films however the selection isn't great.
should never used symbian, 2010-06-10 this phone is ok as a phone. ok to txt with. ok to browse the internet, but very good as a camera.
The sony satio - read this review to decide if its for you., 2010-04-20 At present nobody makes a perfect phone and the satio is brilliant in some ways, less good at others, and thats the case with pretty much everything.

1. The camera. Its very good. Not far off my panasonic compact in the daylight, acceptable at night too though the flash could do with being a bit more powerful, colours probably better than entry level digicams. 12MP it may be but its the lens that matters, and I'd say this was a good 3MP camera in terms of detail which for a phone is blooming impressive, as most can't even match my panasonic in 1.3 megapixel mode! Of course remember its not quite a replacement camera as it lacks optical zoom but for something you always have with you its good. Select 9MP widescreen mode for full screen photo's on laptop. In WVGA the video camera is decent too.
2. Home screen - We're not talking android levels of customisation or quite the slickness of an iphone but sonys slide home screen with 4 options is brilliant compared to my nokia X6/5800/5230/5530 etc.
3. Music player. Contrary to another review I reckon this is good. It looks cool and when I copied music on via mass storage mode, put it in correct order and played perfectly. An EQ is now available from sonys play now store for free and if you select mega bass mode there's plenty of bass to satisfy any bass heavy enthuiast, and thats on a cheap pair of £12.99 sony earphones. Shame it lacks custom EQ but lots of presets and all different so not bad.
4. Web browsing - Download opera mini and its quick. Particularly over wifi. Not as seemless and smooth as iphone, lacks multitouch but still good and quicker than iphone on 3G as opera compresses websites (not a problem on a small phone sized screen) speeding things up a lot!
5. Reception and call quality - Both very good and a welcome change after nokia X6. Nokia X6 kept losing signal everywhere, this rarely does and is much less likely to drop a call or leave friends wondering why my answerphone is switched on.
6. The screen - Its 3.5 inches, nicely sized, and that makes a difference over a 3.2. Works great with iplayer and you tube. Fairly responsive too. Works well for texting/on screen keypads.
7. Speed - With newest firmware mine ain't slow, it eats the nokias (5800/X6 for breakfast for just about everything and rarely hangs or runs out of ram (double the ram, quicker processor.
8. FM radio - Might not look good but the reception is superb compared to nokias effort.
Now for the downsides
---------------------
1. Range of applications is very limited compared to Iphone and not up to what nokia has available either. And thanks to signing most nokia apps will NOT work on this phone.
2. The screen is inferior to anything capacitative for touch work. It doesn't quite do the kinetic scrolling thing properly either.
3. Its quite bulky, but it feels comfortable in my pocket nethertheless and the chunkiness helps when using it as a camera.
4. No offline GPS support. This is a big one for me compared to nokia which now has free maps and navigation. If I want to use it on holiday and avoid big GPRS bills this is essential. So I can't sell the nokia X6 just yet.
5. Battery life - Its acceptable but not brilliant. I'd recommend getting a spare for a weekend away if you're going to use the thing for photo's, internet etc.
6. Sony fastport connector - bulky and ugly, mini USB much nicer!
If you want a camera phone its hard to beat, the samsung pixon 12 is the only thing similar and thats NOT a smart phone and is more restricted in other ways. If you want a music phone its good but there's better options, for apps has to be an iphone. Noone has yet made anything perfect. When they do I'll buy it in a flash!
Great camera the phone not so good, 2010-07-08 This is my first touch screen phone and I must admit I think I have made the wrong decision to get this particular phone. As much as the camera is good the rest of the phone really is disappointing its slow and unresponsive and although it was cheaper than the iphone I wish now to have paid the extra and got the iphone.
The worst phone but best camera!, 2010-05-24 The camera is fab but don't buy this phone for that(but a compact digital camera. The phone is hideous to use and the screen isn't very responsive. SOOOO annoying to use and very slow. Yawn.
