Samsung Tocco Lite Review, 2010-08-06 I didn't like this phone, I had it for one month then sold it to a friend and took up a contact with a Nokia e63.
The one thing that I did like about this phone was it's 3.2MP camera, it took amazing photos.
The phone is very slow and the touchscreen, at times was very un-responsive.
gr8 and quick response, 2010-08-20 Bought item then chose to have it refunded. Was refunded the next day and the service was great. thank you and sorry for wasting your time. ben
Good for a first time touchscreen user, 2010-09-03 This is my first touchscreen. I bought it because my old Samsung was dying and they don't make flip phones anymore. Whilst i did not purchase it from Amazon, but the o2 shop, I felt like I had to write a review because i was so impressed. I bought it on Monday and spent all day playing with it and inputting numbers, then I used it to text and call regularly (say 10 messages and 2 calls daily) and by Friday, it was down to one bar (out of 5) of battery life. I think this is amazing! Maybe I'm just easily pleased.
Being a Samsung devotee, I must say that I have found the phone exceptionally easy to use. I haven't yet used the internet so I can't comment on that. I like the widget function, which is a new feature for me. It's basically a sidebar which hides at the side of the main desktop and you can choose which icons you want to appear there as shortcuts. I like the two timezone clock because it means I can quickly see what time it is in Canada, where my dad lives.
The only downside to the phone, for me, is that you really have to use t9 to text because manual texting (which I prefer) on a touchscreen is ridiculously slow. I must say, after reading the other reviews, I hadn't realised that you could turn the phone sideways for a qwerty keyboard.
The guidebook which comes with the phone is extremely basic too. It tells you how to do the obvious like insert the battery (although getting the back off was easier said than done) but not the more complex features which you might actually need help with.
I'm using a flip cover with the phone to protect it and because I'm used to flip phones. The only issue with this is that you can't actually charge it with the cover on.
Overall, i think this product is great value for money and I would recommend it to anyone patient enough to use a slow touchscreen!
I must also note that I've only had the phone for a week so may not have come across any inevitable problems.
samsung tocco lite, 2010-08-15 was very pleasd with the phone would recomend it has got
a lot of good features that would satisfy all ages
Pretty useless, 2010-08-25 I can only think the 5 star reviews are from people who are easily pleased. I bought this phone just for its size and screen size (for showing pictures to people....It's just so damned slow, the lock / unlock button feature is rubbish, you press it, nothing happens, then as you press it again the screen lights up and you've locked it again....sometimes it takes 5 or six shots just to get it on...
While on the phone, if you want to use the keypad you have to press 'unlock' first, which usually doesn't work, occasionally it does, but more often, your call has moved on or finished.
On 3 occasions in the last 6 months mine has switched itself off.
You try to show someone photos you've taken and its 'tipping the phone to move on to next picture' action makes it almost impossible to stop at the correct picture.
Trying to do anything which requires a 'tap' like viewing a received text can often take 6 or 7 taps....you try to scroll your way through your texts and invariably one of the texts opens...the same happens when your trying to use the redial feature, if you need to scroll down your last dialled numbers.... one opens....this phone is incapable of distinguishing between a tap and a scroll.
Then there's the lack of a 'standard 3.5mm headphone socket...I could go on but I'm going back to my old Music Express or Nokia 6303i...I'll just have to do without the larger screen untill nokia make a slim large screen phone with a decent processor in it.
