This is a genuine panasonic battery of the correct specification but probably for the french market(different writing on battery case)but after limited use seems to match up to the performance of camera supplied battery and at a very competitive price.

Well, this battery does what it says on the tin - it powers my TZ8 for a respectable time, but at this price is frankly too expensive.
Luckily, I found that Amazon now sell a Microtek compatible battery for well under half this price. I now have one of these and, in normal use, I can find no difference between it and the Panasonic versions.
