Very good phone with excellent feel., 2009-12-05 I bought this after reading all the reviews here. They don't lie. The phones themselves have a very nice feel, and are not too small. Installation is a breeze. The only point I will make is this: MAKE SURE YOU USE THE SUPPLIED RJ11 PHONE CABLE WITH THE PHONE! I emphasise this because its easy to overlook this, especially if you are replacing an existing phone. However, not all RJ11 cables are created equal, and if you use the one from your old phone you may find your new phone doesn't work. So don't be lazy, unplug the old cable and plug this one in instead.
Other than that, great phones that I recommend highly. The reviews are spot on.
What a difference......, 2009-08-28 I almost threw my phones out the window as they kept running out of charge or cutting me out in middle of my conversation etc. I chose these phones as I bought my parents them a few years ago and they have no problems with theirs. I am soooooo glad I got them. What a difference it makes to have as a long a conversation as you want without fear of being cut off..... The charge is brilliant I can leave them for days off the charger. Will never buy a phone again just because it looks modern or fancy although I have to say these phones although they work brilliantly they do look quite good. Some said the black plastic was cheap looking but its not its very sleek looking and about the light on the phone when it sits in the charger. Its not that bright and when your sleeping you don't notice it !! Its good when I need to know the time during the night as I can just have a look at it lol
To summarise great looking phone, not too pricy, does the job its supposed to. 10/10
Satisfied, 2009-08-12 These phones look of a much higher quality in the images than they do up close. They also feel quite plasticy (if that's a word). The ring tones aren't that great either (there are several to choose from, but they're all quite corny).
That said, the bases are very small, which is a good thing. Call quality & range is good & they are easy to use. I particularly like the fact that you can apply a different ring tone to different callers, which enables you to identify when the mother-in-law is calling, thereby saving you the energy of getting out of your chair, only to ignore the call & sit down down again.
Dect phones, 2009-12-31 These phones are really great with good sound always - no interference. I've set them up so everyone in my address book is also in a 'group' so I know instantly if it's someone in my family, sports group, a friend, or from work. Slight annoyance as, although we can send text messages, you can only receive them through voicemail (which sound wierd)! Also, even though y0ou can copy all your numbers between phones, you have to sort out your 'groups' for each phone! Overall though, they're good phones.
Good, but limitations, 2010-01-18 I bought these to replace an older Panasonic version. I think overall they are a good, solid phone. However, three things frustrated me. 1, the method of transferring the contact list from phone to phone has changed, so I was not able to move my contact list from the old version. Consequently, I had to manually input all my numbers again .. bit of a pain. 2, my older version allows you to name each handset - kitchen, living, bedroom etc. The new version does not, so using the intercom is just so much more painful because you have to know the number of the handset you are calling rather than the location. This seems to me to be a petty omission from the older spec. 3, Unlike the old version, the phone display does not dim when in the charger and it is quite bright. This kept my wife awake before we moved the phone to the landing - not ideal and there seems to be no way to tell it to switch off when not in use. Actually the options to configure the handsets are pretty limited generally and the colour screen is a downgrade in terms of clarity over the original monochrome displays.
Aside of that, its what I have come to expect from Panasonic, a good, functional wireless phone, good quality speech and handsfree, easy to use and set up generally. I'm now on my 3rd generation - they die eventually as the keys stop working reliably, but after 10 years of use I can live with that.
