Cheap to Buy - Exspensive Looking - Good Upscale Image, 2008-11-15 Very Impressed - Recommended! Matches the Samsung TV's Nicely and then works off the TV Remote.
Problematic, 2008-11-17 What looks like the future of DVD players is plagued with problems.
It will not play all DIVX and XVID movies and when you want to play a DVD you need to insert the DVD and then reboot the system before it will be detected.
Samsung are no help with the problems and refuse to release a firmware update to solve these problems.
Personally I wouldn't recommend this player and strongly advise you choose a different one!
Region free hacks do not work, 2008-12-17 I bought this dvd player based on the reviews here, especially regarding region 1 hack. However everybody should be aware that the hack doesn't work. It looks as though Samsung have made changes. It is impossible to get the no disc sign off to allow the sequence to begin. Pity as the main reason I bought it was for the kids to watch a pile of their old region 1 discs. Seems okay otherwise, basic dvd player.
Cute little DVD Player - Does what it says for a fair price, 2008-12-01 Hi peeps, not going to get technical on this one as most people have covered. except I would like to mention that it does a pretty good playback of .AVI files. Takes time to buffer (1-2 mins) but does a good job. Remote it small but works well.
Very pleased, 2008-12-12 I have got this hooked up to a 22in lcd via the supplied component cables, the picture quality with this set up is excellent, noticibly much better than an old sharp Dvd player via scart lead. I am awaiting delivery of Hdmi cable. I wanted a neat modern machine that was as small as possible, this ticks all boxes.I hope it lasts and is reliable.
