Average rating of 5/5 AND it's a 'phone too!, 2008-07-19
What can i say that's not already been said? Brilliant piece of engineering...Spiderman 3 & headphones for long train journeys...top class music player & 5mp camera! Fancy spinning menus. So much crammed in that i still (after 3 months)have problems finding stuff like video clips downloaded to it! Haven't even used the GPS (was told it was expensive as it keeps an 'active link' as you drive/walk around). mine's on voda so you have to be careful accidentally pressing the bottom right 'voda live' button as it costs me 40p for 1 second's error. Great phone! Go 4 it!!!

Average rating of 4/5 Brilliant except why USB 1.1?, 2008-07-04
This is my third Nokia S60 based smart phone (6630, N73). Because this phone has so much built in it is actually less good as a phone than the other two I have used. The battery life is lower and you have to slide to get to the keys. However it has so many extra useful functions I can forgive it this fault. What stops me giving it 5 stars is how slow it is when you come to put data onto the phone (ie movie MP4 files). I have an Ipod Nano on which I watched ripped DVDs in MP4 format when I am traveling etc. When I got the N95 I thought the screen is much bigger, I will use this instead. A 0.5GB movie which transfers from my PC to Ipod in less than 2 minutes takes around 30 minutes to copy to the N95 by USB cable!!!! This really is a put off. Why have Nokia chosen a connection which allows transfer speeds of a few KB/s when todays technology easily allows MB/s? Another slight problem is that when watching MP4 videos sometimes dark areas show as green rather than black. Stopping the movie and restarting usually clears this, or sometimes it gradually clears as you watch, but again a nuisance.

Average rating of 4/5 Bestseller for a reason!, 2008-10-17
I've had this handset for around 6 months and I reckon I still haven't discovered all it has to offer! Upsides - superb all-round entertainment handset, camera clarity, video calling, memory, websurfing, display of webpages and Nokia/Google Maps (clear satellite images), movies are displayed really well, the N-Gage gaming platform is great.

Downsides - abysmal battery life, weightiness (brick in pocket springs to mind!), camera takes an age to warm up and get focussed, inner keypad is on the small side, no card slot. It isn't really a good business phone (organiser is a bit basic, difficult to master typing emails and stuff on that miniscule keypad). Other than that (hope I haven't put you off!) it's a beautiful handset!

Average rating of 4/5 Mostly great... but not everything!, 2008-08-23
I've had this phone for a couple of weeks now, and here's what I think.
I don't get this problem about the battery life! If you use it simply as a phone the battery life is fine. If you use the apps all the time, then you have to expect to charge it every 24 hrs.
It's easy to navigate around, and if you have the web n' walk option from T Mobile, as I have, you don't have to worry about how much it's costing you to use the data connection. 3G, when you can get it, is lightening fast. Nearlt 500kb per sec. The phone works fine as a phone as well. You can download a piece of free software called FRING which will allow you make Skype calls using the WiFi connection on the phone.
I have a Slingbox, which allows you watch tv on your laptop or mobile. You can download a mobile version of this software, which works very well..
I love this phone, but there are a few serious niggles, hence only 4 stars.
1. Nokia Maps. What a rip off. £40 a year! You would be better off buying Garmin Mobile XT at around £50 (for UK maps) with no recurring subscription. It's a better system, with traffic and speed cam info. I found the Nokia Maps to be inaccurate as well. It seemed to have no knowledge of 1 way streets in Brighton - so pretty much useless. DON'T buy a subscription! The GPS itself seems to work better with Garmin software than Nokia Maps.
2. The supplied N series software is not as good as the standard Nokia PC Suite. Go and download that instead of using the supplied disk.
3. Transfer times via the USB cable are seriously slow. 30 mins plus to transfer a film. I gather there is because it's USB 1.1. Not good.
All in all, it's a very good phone, which really does do an awful lot. The camera is excellent, and the video picture quality is the best I have seen.
Did I mention that you can't shoot video on the IPhone at all?

Average rating of 1/5 Disappointed both with the phone and customer care of Nokia, 2008-12-12
Bought this phone about 8 months back. The phone was dead in the 6th month. Went to Nokia care centre, the phone was replaced by a used handset. I did not accept the handset as it had scratches everywhere! The handset was replaced once again with a used handset. This process took a whooping 2 months. So I was without a handset for couple of months. The replaced handset was worst, it used to hang at any time. No life on the handset although all the lights on the handset were on, the screen went blank. I had to remove the battery to reset it. Went to Nokia care centre once again, they formatted the phone and put the software back. Within a week same problem reappeared. This is the story so far (11 months since the purchase). Have asked to replace the handset with a new one or to upgrade the handset with N96 but no response from Nokia. Fed up after numerous emails, phone calls and visit to local service centre.
My advice, don't buy any of the Nokia handset specifically the slider phones.
