 Might work for some, 2009-09-20
To say I was disappointed is an understatement. I was very keen to get this webcam, mainly for the picture quality. Well, the picture quality was pretty good, but this was far outweighed by other factors.
For a start, the sound quality was rather poor. The sound distorts on peaks of volume. To get it to work properly you have to be careful to keep your voice at a low level throughout. This distortion can clearly be heard on various YouTube videos using this camera. It could never be used to record someone singing, and speech is very problematic.
More important for me, was that it totally took over my sound system. I am using a Soundblaster Audigy Platinum Pro. On installation of the camera I became unable to record anything, and could not use my MIDI programs. I phoned up Logitech, who were very unhelpful, and blamed Creative for the problem.
The result was that after paying a lot of money for this camera, I relegated it to my junk drawer after a week of use.
Definitely not recommended, unless you are not bothered about sound.

This is the number 1 webcam, i use it to talk to my friends on skype and friend on msn, they love it and for the money it is defintely worth it. You can use it straight out of the box or have the stand, I like the stand as I think it makes it more classy. It works on 64 bit, I have windows 7 64 bit and works perfectly. No problems, installion is hassle free, recommend installing logitech video software and I have had no problems with it so far at all. Between the logitech 9000 that my friend has and this, I would pay slightly extra and get this, it is superior and has more range of compatibility for higher optimised video calls. Also the microphone feature is good if you don't have one already or can;t afford a decent wireless headset. I think this is worth the money, every single penny
Good cam... others better for money, 2009-08-04
wow... Never had such a good web cam in my life. Shame about the price though (there are others that are better value for money.. but this one is CERTAINLY the best quaility). If you want quality then this is the cam for you. If you want value for money, then this deffinaltly isnt the one.
Quality doesn't come cheap, 2009-06-03
I've had this webcam for a month or so now and it is the best one I have ever owned. It installs easily, is intuitive to use and gives tremendous quality in all light conditions.
In addition to a host of great features, it also includes lots of fun stuff like filters, avatars and face accessories and more of these can be downloaded for free from Logitech's website - the camera software has direct link which takes you straight there.
I have installed and used this camera on both an XP and a Vista PC with no problems on either.
All this and great looks too - it will be the coolest thing on your desk. Worth every penny in my view; you won't be disappointed.
good gadget, 2009-08-03
This an excellent piece of kit and gives widecreen performance great colour and tracks your movements too. Cant wait for a wireless model which must be somewhere on the horizon.
