Average rating of 5/5 sham about the instructions, 2009-11-28
good phone easy to use but the instructions are very small i had to download them again from the nokia website and print them off.
for older users with site diffuculties it could be a problem.
but a good phone.

Average rating of 5/5 Excellent workhorse - plus a few good extras, 2009-11-27
Does everything one would expect and more. I bought mine plus a Sandisk microSD 2gb card (at about a £fiver)which I would recommend if you intend to take more than a few snaps, and you can then use it as a poor man's MP3 players as well, and the results are Ok. You can and should download a Nokia PC suite, if you want to synchronize your calendar on the phone with Outlook, and also for transferring your photos/videos and MP3 to your PC. However you will need to be a bit computer literate to do this sort of thing , but I managed & I'm not great at it. The radio seems to work fine as well. In summary great phone, plus a few useful toys if you have the time to set them up! (The only niggle is that if you want to refer to the instructions you will need better than 20/20 vision to read them, they are so small. Silly penny-pinching in the extreme. You can find them online if you try though)

Average rating of 5/5 Useful, robust little 'phone, 2010-02-25
Having owned (apart from a brief period with a Motorola, not great), I have only owned Nokia 'phones.

I originally wanted the 3109 Classic (same handset minus the camera and Bluetooth), but this worked out cheaper.

1st impressions: candy bar shape, (I prefer that to 'flip style 'phones, which I find a bit flimsy), large screen, good keypad, keys have a positive feel when pressed. No rattles and the handset seems pretty solid.

I use the MP3 player and download tracks onto it from my PC, using the mini USB connector on the bottom, (the lead for which costs around 2-3 pounds).Takes a maximum micro SD card size of 2GB, (which is a pain and I complained to Nokia about, as more expensive Nokia handsets can handle much higher capacities, so why not this model?

Mains adaptor uses the small 2mm socket, so you will need an 3.5mm-2mm adaptor (costs 2-3 pounds) if you want to charge it using an older Nokia charger.

Charges from flat in an hour or so (irrespective of whether old or new style charger is used), but the battery life is amazing. I can easily get a week out of it, with light usage of radio/MP3 player and calls, probably longer if I curbed my MP3 listening.

Camera low spec, but it works. Keep the Bluetooth turned off unless you are going to use it, as it drains the battery quicker and also make sure your handset is 'permantely hidden' (under Bluetooth options). Will take silent video, but not great quality.Bluetooth useful for transferring files between laptop and handset if you've forgotten your USB cable.

FM radio fine, but the volume does not go very high. There is an equaliser option in the 'Media' menu, one of the settings of which may help boost the sound.

I admit I did have a problem, (the handset switched itself off sometimes). I simply updated the software on the handset with the latest version from the Nokia www site. Where there is a time lag between a new version of software and the slightly older version shipped on a handset, there tend to be bugs on it which are fixed on the next software version. They find the bugs in between manufacturing and you buying the handset.Changing software takes about 15 mins, but move any games, pictures etc onto the memory card before you do this, as you may lose them. Also worth backing up any files onto PC or laptop in case of accidential deletion.

Some of the reviewers above seem to have had problems with their handsets, possible these may have been fixed with a software upgrade.

Having used Nokia's before the menus are familiar and I didn't need to use the instruction manual.Handset is tri-band (900/1800/1900Mhz), so will work basically anywhere, but only some areas of the US, as their GSM also uses 850Mhz. It should work fine in all the major areas you'd want to visit.Same reason that coverage in South America may also be patchy, again because they also use 850mhz, but many countries also use 1900Mhz.

In all a decent quality handset, worth considering. Not top end, more like medium.

Average rating of 4/5 Nokia 3110 Classic. Robust, Simple and Easy to Use, 2009-11-06
Great 'phone if you are looking for something that is straightforward to use. Like most Nokias the main functions are simple to access with an intuitive layout of the navigation keys. The main keyboard has larger than average buttons which make key selection assured. The hands free function is great for writing down notes whilst still continuing your conversation. It has a high quality feel and I expect it will last well. If you don't want the camera function then go for the Nokia 3109 which is otherwise identical.

Average rating of 3/5 Not bad not good ether, 2009-12-03
the phone maybe a good price and may have good amount of stuff on it but the radio and mp3 on it are substandard and the ring tone volume is realy low on the highest setting you can't here it when some one rings or txt you when you have it in your pocket
