Average rating of 4/5 Nokia 7250i - A Bargain!, 2004-10-27
The Nokia 7250i is an upgrade made by Nokia from the Nokia 7250 mobile phone. With the Nokia 7250i many new features have been added, however the main new feature of this mobile phone is the inclusion of the 'Night Mode' and 'Self-Timer' mode on the camera.

The Nokia 7250i is made by the company 'Nokia' and uses the same principles and styles as the other Nokia mobile phones. I feel that this phone is good value for money, as Nokia has kept some 'original' features such as the 'address book', however has updated it to include features such as 'Caller Groups'. The message system on this phone is very much the same. The 'predict-a-text' is still on this phone and all of the other same features on other Nokia mobile phones. With the 7250i, multimedia messages can be sent - this means that you can send the photos and pictures that you take with the camera to other mobile phone users that have the multimedia message system enabled on their own SIM card/mobile phone.

I particularly like the 'Gallery' feature on this phone. The Nokia 7250i contains many different folders filled with clip-art, pictures and even the familiar 'Nokia Ringtone'. This phone is a bundle of joy and enables you to edit your photos which you have taken with the camera to add frames, borders and even clip-art to make those people that you do/don't like to have funny features such as glasses, beards, party hats and even cat faces! Nokia has really gone one better with this phone and added humorous clip-art for you to use at your own peril!

The 7250i has a radio which is very good for a 'phone-radio'. The reception is not that bad for a phone, however I do feel that sometimes the reception can get 'fuzzy'. The radio is used with the special 'Nokia Headphones' that come with the phone and the radio on this phone works like a normal radio - you can search through the stations using your key-pad buttons, while you can even save your favorite stations in your 'My Favorites' folder. Overall, the radio on this phone is a very good 'side-addition' to have!

The buttons on this phone are very unique. You have the normal green and red 'call' buttons on this mobile, however the new addition to this phone would have to be the 'menu' buttons. This phone comes with a very unique button system. There are four buttons (up, down, left-up and right-up) which can be used to enable a more 'hands-on' approach when creating text-messages etc: opposed to just using the 'up' and 'down' buttons. You might need a little practice using these buttons as they are a tad difficult to use at first - but like any new phone after a while you get familiar with it! Furthermore, the buttons to dial numbers/create text messages are in three rows of four columns. The buttons are quite spaced out (yes - even on this little phone!) and are very unique opposed to the buttons on any other Nokia phone. All in all you should buy this phone and try the button system out for yourself.

This phone has great connectivity, even though it does not have 'Bluetooth' this phone does have 'Infrared' and 'GPRS' options. A very worth-while option if someone you know has an Infrared option on their mobile phone!

The camera on this phone is situated on the back and is very small. This does not mean to say that the pictures are small as there are many different options to change the size of your picture ranging from 'Portrait' mode to 'Standard' mode. The camera is very special and has been updated to be more productive. You can now even take photos at night-time by using the 'Night-Mode' - a huge update from the 7250 model. I feel that the camera is a good addition to this phone, solemnly on the price of this phone; however the main downfall of the camera is that there is no 'Zoom' option when taking the actual photo. You can only zoom in on the photo after you have taken it! (Silly - huh?!?)

All in all this phone has got what you need - a camera, a colour screen, Infrared and GRPS connectivity, photos, clip-art, ringtones and much more! A definite bargain is this phone!

I think the 7250i camera phone which i have for about 7 months now isnt as good as i thought it was.It wont allow me to use infrared as when i turn it onand connect it with another phone it doenst send.I like the radio option, but i think it should have been made differently as you cant zoom in when you are taking a photo you have to wait and do it after the photo has been taken.Do you agree?

Average rating of 5/5 One Of The Best Nokias Out, 2004-07-24
I've had my Nokia 7250i for about 4 months, and I still love it now as much as I did when I first had it. It has everything a phone needs and a lot more.

As always with a Nokia mobile phone, the Menu is simple, and you barely need the manual at all. Previously, I had a 3310 - I loved it, but the main reason I wanted an upgrade was due to it only being able to store 10 messages. In total, my 7250i is capable of storing 150+ text messages, which is fantastic, as it saves you having to delete them every five minutes.

The phone book is capable of storing up to 500 contacts, and my favourite thing about the "Contacts" on this phone is being able to store more than one number under each contact name - it avoids confusion and just makes things easier.

When you're bored, you can always go to "Games" - "Bounce" and "Triple Pop" were the only games available when I first bought the phone. I was disappointed that the classic "Snake" wasn't featured, but I now have it, thanks to Nokia's official website, where you can download the new version of "Snake Ex 2" for around £4.50.

If you're only buying the 7250i for its integrated digital camera, then don't buy this phone. The pictures are quite good, but sometimes the quality isn't that great - there is a "zoom" option, and you also have the option to add "clip art" to the pictures. Having a camera is just a novelty, so I'm not too bothered about having a fantastic camera - what do you expect from a phone? If you want a good camera, get one of those confusing "flip-phones" that are difficult to use.

One of my favourite features is the FM radio - good for when you're bored and when you don't have your walkman. Sometimes the quality isn't that great, but most of the time it's ace - you can only listen to the radio when the headset (comes with the phone) is plugged in - there is an option to have it on loudspeaker through the headset.

Another good feature is the general "Loudspeaker". I often find myself on the phone to someone whilst having a boring conversation - so I set the phone on to loudspeaker, and go and do something else while the person on the other end is rambling.

Most people probably don't use the "Organiser", but I find it great. I have all my birthdays stored in the calendar, and they alert me a week before the birthday has arrived. You can get a full, clear view of the calendar, simply by pressing the "right-key". It shows all the days of the month, and the days with reminders are in bold.

The colour screen is ace - and there is a good range of pictures in the "Gallery", to have as your background. You can also set photos as your background - this brings people to the most common problem with this phone. I worked my way around it, but everyone seems to have some big issue with it. When you go to the gallery and select a photo as your background, the phone will restart. To get around this, simply go into "Settings", then "Display Settings", then "Set Wallpaper", then go into "gallery/photos" and it works just fine.

On my 7250i, I have the "right-selection-key" as "Go to" options, but you can have it as "Contacts" instead of going into "Menu" to find it. The "Go to" options are very useful. Once pressed, you have a list of options of which you can go to. Eg, on my phone, I have "Inbox", "Gallery", "Contacts" and "Radio" as my first 4 "Go to" options, as these are my most frequently used features on the phone - it saves you browsing the menu trying to find what you are looking for.

The ringtones aren't really to my taste, but who cares? Most ringtones that companies make are designed for Nokia phones anyway, so you can always pay for one you do want, but I didn't buy this phone for ringtones. There are about 30+ polyphonic ringtones for anyone wondering.

Picture messaging is also great, but can be a little expensive. You can send photos and images through "Multimedia Messages" quite easily. I had a bit of difficulty with it at first, but I soon got the hang of it.

I'm on Orange. When you buy this phone on Orange, it comes in the ace "Imperfect Blue" Xpress-On cover (featured in the Amazon pic). If you're going to purchase this phone on the Orange network, it may be an idea to also buy "Orange Text Saver" from Amazon (only £10.00 from Amazon, but around £15-£20.00 in shops like The Link and Carphone Warehouse) - you get 5 free texts a day for a year, £5 top-up and a new swipe-card to top-up in the future with. Also, for the phone-addicts out there, there is quite a big range of Xpress-On covers for this phone.

There are probably loads of features that I haven't mentioned, but you get the general idea. So if you're looking for a good, practical, easy-to-use, feature-packed phone, then you can't go wrong with the Nokia 7250i - ignore the bad reviews - I highly recommend this phone.

Average rating of 4/5 A good all rounder with some nice little extra functions., 2004-06-07
The mobile is quite stylish but still a bit on the large side (compared with the phones coming out these days). The phone itself is really easy to use, you barely need the manual at all. All of the menus are very self explanitary, but there is an even more detailed online manual avaliable at the Nokia website if you need to fall back on it. You can easy download and print this out if you wantit (the phone does come with a slightly briefer manual).

The colour screen is impressive, with all of the icons in the menus being in full colour with their own little animations to go with them. There is a photo facility that offers an impressive 352x288 pixels per photo, with a zoom fuction and night mode. The night mode isn't really very good as you sill need some light and there is no flash or anything. All round, the photo capability is a bit of fun, but don't expect it to be of great quality. One nice function is that you can take a photo of your mates so when they call you on your mobile, their picture appears on the screen. Handy when you can't remember peoples names!!!

You can download stuff like ringtones, wallpapers and games from the net or a CD if you get yourself a USB data cable. These are all as good as each other, so I'd recommend that you just shoot onto the net and buy one from an online auction or indeed Amazon! With the cable, you can also convert you pics from your phone over to the computer, enabling you to store pics from all your nights out!!!!

There is a handy hands free option for those drivers amongst us. This is simple and easy to operate, just follow the instructions. No probelms there!

The games on the phone are a bit jerky and slow, but what do you expect from a phone? There's loads of storage space on the phone for pics, texts etc, and you can even use it to email people!!!!!

I'd say it's a really handy, easy to use phone with loads of extra functions to keep you happy. It's not over complicated and comes with a very reasonable price tag. A good all rounder.

this phone has all of the features that are 'must have' in todays society. and it allows you to have a smart, stylish phone but theres no need to stick it in peoples faces and show off. the camera is not the best but is still sweet as, so this phone overall is just pure quality, im on my 2nd and no the first one didnt break, it was stolen!
