Well built, reliable, and does the job., 2007-09-25 We have had one of these at work for a couple of years, and it's still going strong, which says something. Now we've bought a second one for another phone line. This machine is designed by BT and it shows. A clearly visible red button to delete calls, easy to use generally and I think a nice smooth design. It feels well built. My one complaint is that the standby battery (not supplied) is one of those odd things we used to call a PP9 I think. Why not standard AA batteries? Otherwise recommended and good value.
POSTSCRIPT:
Shortly after writing the above, one of our Response 75 answerphones died. Now another Response 75 has died (within about a year). I spoke too soon about reliability; clearly there is a problem here which BT ought to sort out. Very disappointed. I would only give one or two stars now.

Does the Job Well, 2008-07-31 I previously had a portable phone which, after many years, had started to have problems. I wanted something which looked good and did the basic job but also offered up to date features. I did quite a lot of research before buying and selected this Panasonic solution.
There is plenty of information around on the internet and so I'll try and focus on the things which were difficult to find.
As you would expect, the phone works straight out of the box. Being the typical male I didn't read the manual but still managed to get everything to work without much effort - the phone is quite intuitive to use.
The build quality is very good though for some reason home phones never seem to have the same solid feel as the average mobile phone. I guess some people might find the joystick (for navigating around the menus) a little difficult to use.
I originally wanted a phone which would also work with Skype but eventually decided against this I needed an answerphone (which is outside the standard Skype specification). The answerphone works well (maximum 40 mins) which you can also interrogate remotely.
To be honest the colour screen is a bit of a gimmick - I guess it looks quite good but doesn't offer much more than a mono screen (things like being able to change the background colour dependent on caller and set a background image). I wouldn't therefore let the colour screen influence your selection too much.
The phone book is good and stores names alongside numbers and you can group them into categories. I wish there wasn't such a restriction on the number of characters you can use for the name (I think it is about 15 which is normally enough). I especially like the facility to copy the phonebook between handsets which was really easy to do though, frustratingly, it does not copy the contact category with it.
The standby time and talk time appear to be very good though I leave the phones in their cradles for most of the time so I know where they are (thought there is a button you can push on the base station to find a phone that might have disappeared).
I bought two handsets so that I could have one upstairs and one downstairs. I believe you can have a maximum of 6. Both handsets linked up with the basestation without any effort.
Here are some other features which I wanted and the phone has but were not detailed in the item description above: call barring, mute button, night mode (ability to stop wrong numbers in the middle of the night while still allowing family to call), speed dial for frequently used contacts.
Hope this helps.

The best headphones I could find!, 2008-07-26 I went into several shops and tested many different headphones - these sound-wise were the best. Very good quality.
Good build quality too - they look and feel well made.
Several of Sennheiser's previous models had reviews mentioning the headphones kept slipping off your head - however, i did not experience that with these.
The self charging stand is excellent - dead easy!
No hissing or crackling. Good choice if you willing to spend a little more money - you won't be disappointed.

Should have bought a set sooner!, 2008-06-01 Thinking our old BT twins (Studio 1500) had given up on us, I was looking for a replacement set of DECT phones and couldn't ignore the number of good reviews the Panasonic models have got on here, and various other sites I trust.
I almost chose the KX-TG7222 pair, but the sleek look and larger buttons of the TG8222 won in the end.
Compared to our old basic BT phones, the features of the Panasonics are fantastic; saving contacts from the caller ID list, remote access/setup of the answerphone from the handset, Night Mode (great if you've got teens) to name but a few. You might have to go through a couple of menus to find some of them though.
The reception and quality of calls is great, though it's too early to comment on the battery life. The display is good, menu navigation is fairly simple and will surely get more familiar in time.
All in all, a top choice; we really should have bought something along these lines sooner.
We since found out the problem wasn't actually with our old BT phones; it was with the local exchange.
We certainly won't be getting rid of these and going back to our old BT phones though!

- Verve 450 DECT Twin Answering Machine
BT Verve 450, 2008-04-10 As well as it's pleasing design, this phone does what it's supposed to do brilliantly. Reception is perfect, and the speaker for hands free mode is very good. The buttons are clearly laid out, and for someone whose eyes aren't what they used to be, the number are clearly legible. Best of all you can easily copy all the names and numbers in your address book from one handset to the other. The only drawback is that the keys are not backlit.

Brand new product with 1-year guarantee. Fast shipping and excellent customer support. Invoice emailed on request.
very stylish and easy to use, 2008-08-12 Great phones! We were lucky to get ours via Amazon at £129.99 and are very pleased so far. The screens are clear and coloured and we like the little feature where it tells you that the battery is fully charged (rather than having to look at the small battery status logo in the corner). They look nice too. They are black with a nice "chrome look" surround. Its easy to navigate around the menu options and clear to read. The base units are all smart looking in black too, and do not take up much space at all. We havent used all the functions yet as the phones only arrived a couple of days ago, but we would have no hesitation in recommending them. This is the second set of Panasonics we have had in the past 5 years (and the previous set are still working!). we just fancied the black because it matched our other electrical items..hence why we changed, but we are glad that we did as the screens on these are much improved. Thanks again to Amazon for great service!

Great phone for the price, 2008-07-09 These two phones offer great value for money. The sound quality is fine as is the volume. They benefit from hands free facility and are easy to use.
As a person that needs to wear reading specs I find that the key pad is sufficiently large/clear that I can read the keys without the specs (very handy). Not so the tiny screen. It is totally impossible to get even a vague notion of what the screen displays without the specs.
However I just want a phone that allows me to make phone calls. I never bother with facilities such as phone book etc. so I don't really need to use the screen, after all at the beginning of time phones didn't require a screen.
In summary a great basic phone for the price. If you need to use the screen displays you better keep those specs to hand!

A really good phone, 2008-03-26 I bought this phone for my home office, and it does the job brilliantly. Beyond the telephonic basics, it has excellent sound quality and volume, easy-press buttons, fully illuminated display, simple menu system and so on, all in a relatively small handset. The answerphone unit is really small, and easy to operate. For a phone of this price, it is unusual to see a colour screen. The night mode is really handy for a home office, as it silences the phone outside office hours.
I've given it five stars because I really like it, but it has one major flaw: The choice of voice for the answerphone. Of all the voices in all the world that Panasonic could have chosen, it chose... a bored-sounding fresh "art-a-skoo teenage-ah". It is so obviously wrong, but it makes me smile every time I hear it. It is so bad it's almost genius.
