Average rating of 5/5 Best value phone out there!, 2006-09-02
I bought my Moto [...], and after a bit of getting of used to (after being a Nokia user for years) I can say i'm impressed all round. The looks for a start are excellent and very smart - lovely tin/metal case, and I got mine in black which looks even better. Being just a little thinner than the average pen makes it so so easy to put in out of a jeans pocket! The buttons are flat to so theirs no mistakingly pressing any buttons while its in your pocket (apart from the side buttons - lock the keypad!)
The blue backlight is again very smart, and the phone is fairly easy to use - nice menu layout, and clear graphics. The camera is excellent quality - people have slagged it off, but what they fail to understand is that its the phones' screen that makes the photos seem lesser quality. At 640 x 480 pixels, you could easily pay twice the price for a phone with the same quality camera. You can only see the true quality once on the computer (you can download Motorola Phone Tools, I managed to get it free). The 10mb is fine enough. Again, this has had criticism, but what do you expect for around £50? Its fine - photos only take up around 50kb! And even though it can play mp3's, its NOT designed to be an mp3 'player'.
The video is ok, obviously not the best quality for the price, but you can get make short 10 second videos which are good.
It has alot of clever features - the best I feel being the fact you can charge the phone via a computer, or a wall socket, because the phone only has 1 socket on it, that being a mini USB connector. The charge times are fantastic too, and you'll never really need to 'fully' charge it, because when your using your computer, you can simply just let it charge up!
Texting was strange at first - Nokia buttons seem more spaced out, but I'm confident using it now. A great feature is that, like predictive texting, when you type part of a word, like for example "coll" from the word college, the rest of the word will appear in ghost lettering. And by pressing the right button, you can insert the rest of the word, or you can keep texting - very handy! Plus, it remembers common words you use which is even better!
The 'smart' keys are also a great idea. Definately reccomended to people looking for a "next step up" phone. And [...] its surely one of the best value phones on the market, to have Bluetooth, a camera, video, mp3 playback... Get this now!

Average rating of 5/5 One of the best!!!, 2006-02-08
I got this phone as an early Christmas present second hand but I reckon that this is a FANTASTIC phone. Firstly, it looks sleek and cool in silver with the the front screen and when you open it it's even better. It is easy to get around and it offers lots of outstanding features like a great camera! The keypad is easy to use when texting (cos you don't want to be messing around)

The cons to this phone for me is the video recorder. The quality isnt excellent and the time limit is pants (also like the voice recorder!)Plus there is no Bluetooth and you would expect it to have it. They are only really the main downfalls, if I have to be picky!

All in all, this a great phone whatever you pay for it. It offer you things that other phones can't. Well done Sharp, another top class phone! Go and buy it!

Average rating of 5/5 Best phone of this type!!!!, 2006-05-03
I've not had this phone long but I love it, it beats the Sony Ericsson W550i (my very broken in less than 6 months former phone) hands down. Nokia are very reliable, the sound quality is fantastic on phone calls, MP3 and the radio.
Nokia stick with their tried and tested features that people love such as changable covers (this comes in really handy if you scratch the screen!), easy to use predictive text, logical menus and it's robust.
The phone has excellent features such as expandable memory, bluetooth and an MP3 player. My critisms are that there isn't a flash but on every phone I've had they've been rubbish anyway and that the phone doesn't come with a cable to connect it to your computer (an extra but worthwhile purchase).
This phone is so good my boyfriend bought one just after me and we both think that there is no better phone for the money.

Motorola MOTORAZR V3i, mobile phone silver quartz
Average rating of 5/5 Motorola V3i o2, 2006-11-28
I bought this phone two weeks ago after getting frustrated with my Nokia handset. I have been a faithful Nokia user for around 6 years, however my latest - an N70 was seriously getting on my nerves (An excellent smartphone, but extremely slow and easily marked). Anyway, wasn't expecting too much with the Motorola, I loved the looks but I didn't have high hopes for the menu system.

Fortunately, as soon as I got the phone out the box I was very impressed! The phone feels excellent in the hand and is very simple to use; even after using a Nokia for a while, the menu is easy to get used to. Motorola have certainly created a design icon with the V3, it is instantly recognisable and although I haven't used the original version, for its age it still competes easily with all the handsets out at the minute. The flip cover is easily opened and even the keypad has striking looks.

Initially I was going to invest in the KRZR K1, but again it looked like a magnet for fingerprints like my N70 so at half the price the V3i is a bargain. The screen is lovely and clear and doesn't have too many problems in the sun as I am aware that the V3 had. The camera is average, but not bad for a 1.2mp. I have now come to the conclusion that a phone only needs to be a phone and if I wanted a good camera - I'd go and buy one!

Overall, I am very happy with my choice so far, the battery life is nothing special, but lasts a good two days with a few calls and texts. With such a small price tag compared to similar phones, I cannot recommend it highly enough. Should you want a high megapixel camera or efficient mp3 player it may not be the phone for you, but my ipod and kodak are good enough for me.
I defintely give it 5 stars, especially with o2's service, who have always been good to me.

Average rating of 5/5 EXCELLENCE IN A PHONE!, 2007-06-27
The samsung e720 is the best phone i have ever had. It is light, and basically indestructable. The first day i had it i dropped it down a bowling alley, and it was fine! I have had it for a year now, and dropped a good 20 times from more that 4 feet onto concrete, without barley a scratch.
People say that the call quality is a bit 'dodgy'! I think those people are completely wrong, and that this is probably because they are used to phones with amazing quality. I know for a fact that the phones dont vary in call quality, and that it is good.

It has amazing colour, it fits in your pocket, and music can be played on there.

If i had to suggest 1 thing to improve, i would say that the usb cord that comes with it didnt have an installation disc, because this way doesnt work. I found that to put music onto my phone, i have to use my families k800I, with a usb cord for sharing files, and bluetooth the files between them. Also it only takes MP3's, so i have to convert the music from WMA to MP3 before i can use it.

Also, if charging up, the charger says it is ready to be taken off hours before it really does. I made this mistake, and because i thought it was ready when i first got it, i took it off cgarge after 20 mins, when it needs the recommended time. DONT BE FOOLED!

Overall, i would highly recommen this phone! It is a fabulous phone, that no matter how old it is (2 years this year!), it still looks amazing. I would definately give it 10 out of 5 stars!!

Indeed, close to perfect.
Very reliable, very comfortable, very lasting.
I've been so satisfied during those 3 years of use and abuse that I'm even considering buying exactly the same model just the new one (my phone finally started to switch off randomly and the camera doesn't always work, otherwise it's still fine).
