Addictive !, 2010-07-30 As it seems all blackberry's are as addictive as the other. I find that the 8900 is much more sophisticated (that being lookswise) than the 8520.
All around it is a good phone; good camera, easy to use the trackball etc.
Only problems I have had with it so far is that it likes to freeze alot (which I find quite unacceptable considering I have not even had this phone for a month) and I have had to turn it off and restart it at least 5 times; also I find the Blackberry Messenger stops working quite often.

HTC
Excellent phone, though some minor missed opportunities, 2010-08-26 This is a fantastic phone, the built in apps are great and there some amazing apps in the store.
Android is a great system and I've written my own apps.
There are a lot of comments about battery life. My own experience is that it is pretty good, but it does depend on what you do. Hitting the processor hard has a significant impact, so badly heaved apps may explain why some people are having problems and why their phone gets warm. I get about a day of very heavy use, about 2 days of reasonable use and 4 days of light use.
Now the missed opportunities. None of these are that serious, but I'm surprised that someone like HTC, who are normally very good, missed these:
o You need to press the power button to wake the screen, but if the phone is off, it now switches on. A long press of the power button to switch on would have solved this.
o An ear-piecing start-up sound. Why do we need a start-up sound at all? Can be fixed with an app.
o Notification LED stops flashing after 5 minutes, so can't spot waiting messages etc. at a glance. Can be fixed with an app.
o The Orange voice-mail notification system confuses the SMS manager and it puts a message on the SIM. Can be fixed with an app.
o Hands-free Bluetooth dialing would be nice.
But don't get me wrong, I still love it.
I can use the VPN to connect to my home machine.
I can connect a laptop via USB or WiFi and use tethering.
The browser is very good and can now handle flash.
Navigation using Google maps is very good, I don't need a separate Sat Nav any more.
On screen keyboard works well, no problem creating text messages and writing emails.
Great for watching videos (amazing screen) and listening to music.
Has an FM radio, but does need a fairly strong signal.
etc.

Best phone AND mp3 player I've owned so far, 2010-08-25 As the title states not only is this the best phone I've ever owned (and believe me at 35 I've owned a LOT of phones) but this is hands down the best mp3 player I've ever owned also.
This is the first time I can ever remember having to turn the volume down whilst listening to music, the volume is amazing and the sound quality is simpley superb, music can run in the background with or without interuptions from calls, text, emails or instant messagest etc.
To hold this handset is really nice, nice weight, really nice feel, texting can be a little awkward for the first couple of days if you have gone from a regular phone to a qwerty keyboard but once you get used to it you'll find its better and quicker than for example having to press a key 4 times just to get a letter S?!?!?
I have hooked up my hotmail and facebook to send me alerts and the e.mail side of it is really impressive, my friend has an Iphone and if we both get sent E.mails via work mine comes through a lot quicker than his (instant vs up to an hour). If your comparing this to the Iphone (and lets be honest most people do) then you have to ask yourself a few questions? What do YOU want it for? Yeah the Iphone has thousands of apps but the Blackberry has its onwn fair share of apps too and everything I've wanted so far i've found from Addidas MiCoach, Ebay app, Online Banking App even down to a handy cocktail recipe app i downloaded at a recent party much to the amusement (and enjoyment) of some of my family. Touch screen is a massive MASSIVE turn off for me and was the deciding factor when chosing my latest handset and I'm more than happy with my choice
Internet is super fast, with the usual favorites, history, google search etc.
Blackberry Messenger!!!! For those who are not aware of this it is a feature installed in all blackberrys that enables the owner to send an instant message (like sms) to anyone in the world who has a blackberry (providing you have there pin-number) this is a MASSIVE feature and a big big thumbs up as it saves you a fortune on sms/mms messages because you can send photos as well ALL FREE OF CHARGE from blackberry to blackberry!
Ringtones are loud and fully customisable including a very handy "bedside mode" where you can control what alerts come through and what dont (let be honest nobody wants to be woken up at 5am because some loon has tagged you in a photo on facebook do they?) battery life is really good and can be lengthened by turning off bluetooth, wifi and even dimming the screen from 100% to 70% which is hardly noticabe. The screen itself is fantastic, Avi's play seamlessly and the built in speaker is really quite loud too so watching videos to share with friends doesn't require you to have an earphone each! My only complaint about this phone is some of the apps that you have to buy are for functions that you really would expect for free, for example Hands Free? Being able to turn the flash on to use as a torch? these are things that where the norm on my previous much less expensive phone but that being said its a small criticism of what can only be described as an all round fantastic phone with tonnes and tonnes of very handy features and is very customisable indeed.
Be a sheep and by and Iphone or get a spine and buy a blackberry........its the smarter choice
All in all I can't praise this phone enough and I'm glad I made the decission to go for this over the Iphone because as appealing as the Iphone is the touch screen was a major decission maker and Blackberry Messenger swung the balance. The Blackberry Bold 9700 does everything I want it to and more. I am a proud member of Team Blackberry!!!

Samsung MobSam B2100 SolidExtreme RedBlk GTB2100SRAXEU Phones Mobile Phones
Samsung B2100 - Excellent Phone, 2010-07-28 This phone is amazing. I read a lot of reviews before buying it and all phones seem to have good and bad points.
I wanted a basic phone which played music through an internal speaker and was fairly easy to use.
The Samsung B2100 satisfies the bill totally.
1) The phone is really easy to use. The screen is not brilliant but more than adequate. The stuff about fluff on the keys is crazy.
2) The music player is simplicity itself to use. Transfer MP3 files on to micro disc and you're away. The back comes off really easily though is secure. Playlists are created really easily and fav. song can be used for ringtone really easily. The speaker whilst not deafening the neighbours is really good with bass boost. Not tinny and quite loud enough for normal use. I use it in the shower or when having a bath and it's fine. If you like to go to sleep listening to music it has a sleep timer which is really easy to set up.
3) Got wet, been dropped - yes it is tough. The torch is great too especially at night getting keys in doors.
4) The only minor negative is that you can catch the torch or volume key on side of the phone by accident if keypad unlocked.
conclusion - This is the first time ever I have written any review on any product which should signal how good this phone is. If you want fancy gizmos and a slick phone perhaps it's not for you. But if you want an easy to use phone, which is tough, and stores and plays music well this must be the phone for you. Buy and enjoy as definitely a Five Star Phone!

Nokia
The best phone I've ever had!, 2010-07-30 Having had more phones than I care to mention including the Iphone 3GS, this is the best! The call quality is excellent, build quality too, good size, tough but classic design. Battery lasts well too, about 3 days steady use or 2 days heavy use. Reliable as clockwork - forget all these fancy phones that crash, have touch screens and wont make a simple call or send a text. If you want a phone for using as a phone, buy this!

My new phone, 2010-08-17 Having not updated my mobile phone for a very long time, it is well over five years ago that i bought my last one! i was somewhat nervous about choosing a new one and was only doing so reluctantly( as my very old rubber nokia/builders phone as they referred to it in carphone warehouse affter they had stopped falling about with laughter that I still had it) finally gave up the ghost and died.
I am so pleased with this phone, I love Nokia's and this one is brilliant. neat, simple to use AND stylish! Highly recommended.
