I bought the triple handset version 7123E back in Sep 2006 after the base station of our previous Philips Zenia 200 suffered from a wireless fault after 3 years of use.
These Panasonics have worked faultlessly. The handsets have a nice solid feel about them and have easy to press rubber buttons.
Fwiw, a relative bought the KG-TX8324 quad handset with the colour LCD display last year, after their Philips Zenia 200 base station suffered the same fault. The build quality of the 83xx handsets seem inferior to my 71xx series, feeling very plasticky with cheap feeling flush buttons.

If you don't mind spending some time with the user manual, it's actually a very good product. We don't use the phone everyday, but there are a good range of ringtones (not the regular kind) and overall the phone looks very slick in it's build. We've had it now for over a year and so far so good. The answerphone function is very easy to use as well.

I own a set of 4 of these and never had any problems with them. Battery life is excellent (so long as you put it back on charge once in a while). Ringing tones can be increased from 'do not disturb' (silent) to 'boost' (very loud). Also the Base itself can be set with its own ring tone in case the handset is in another room. Babysit mode is great (works just like a baby monitor, obviously if you have more than 1 handset).
Other useful functions such as texting, grouping numbers (assigning different ring tones to different people), alarm, loudspeaker, paging (rings handset if you can't find it!) plus all the other usual features.
Its a few years old now compared to the latest models so if you shop around you may get a deal somewhere.
I deduct one star because the little selector button on the side is a bit fiddly and the screen is just one colour but these are minor points so other than that highly recommended.
