Bought this product about a year ago and it worked fine to begin with, then about a month ago the batteries seemed to be going. If the phone had been off the charging cradle for less than half an hour and then rang, it would often only ring a couple of times before the screen went blank and you were unable to answer the call.
If it did allow you to answer a call the handset would start bleeping to tell you that the battery was about to die. You would then put it back on to the cradle and it would need ages to recharge, very, very annoying when you have someone trying to call and you can't talk to them.
This has happened to both handsets!!!
I replaced the batteries thinking it might be this simple, but the problem did not disappear.
Other issues with the phone - the sound quality of the answer machine is pretty poor, you have to programme both handsets seperately and the sequence you have to go through to programme the phones takes alot of different screens before you get through to what you want.
This is the second BT phone that I have bought which has died soon after the manufacturers warranty runs out, I will not be buying another and have switched to a different manufacturer.

 Utterly let down by the user interface, 2004-10-26
This could be a great phone. It's nicely made, has an interesting design, good sound quality, and a range of useful functions.
Unfortunately, the user interface is about as clear as the markings on the Rosetta stone. Setting the simplest thing means delving into the badly organized and written instruction leaflet, to find you have to press the something symbol, then select 3, or squiggle, or push something twice, then stand on your head... I'm usually a technology freak, but after two years with this, I still can't reset the time without the instructions when it forgets it, which is frequently. Honestly, nothing I've ever bought has a worse interface than this.
I really like the slim and unobtrusive base station. I even quite like the ethereal ringtones. I don't like the (non-backlit) display though, and you won't like trying to program a number into it, or discover which arcane combination of keys lets you activate caller display. Never worked for me.
Bottom line: I replaced it with a Panasonic.

not good, 2009-03-27
i bought this for our main phone- the buttons are too small, as is the handset. too hard to hear and controls are fiddly. when you go to delete you can easily mess it all up- skip it
