This system was a replacement for our old one.
We found the batteries difficult to fit into the casing and it is annoying to have to enter numbers individually into each phone.
Every time we have a power fluctuation, the time on the base set changes, which can be annoying when you check what time someone left a message on the answerphone! In fact the answerphone is not as good as previous ones we have had.
Calls are not always as clear as they could be, but this could be a BT problem?
The buttons on the phones are only reliant on the plastic being flexible so we hope thaey will last!
Apart from this we are reasonably happy with the product.

Not bad fro the money, 2008-09-26
I bought these after returning a BT Dect cordless bought from an online highstreet retailer, which looked good, seemed cheap but performed like a pair of Action man walkie talkies.

Encased in a glossy white plastic with metallic trim and blue lcd backlight, these handsets look modern and are pleasing to the eye. In your hand this idect feels like your holding a phone as opposed to a weightwatchers slimline chocolate bar. That doesnt mean they are heavy at all though.

You dont need a university degree to use these as they are pretty simple to operate, however some literacy is useful as the manufacturers have a added a 4 page addendum to accompany the user manual!
Maybe someone at the factory forgot to proof read the manual before printing 20,000 of them??
They dont have AA or AAA standard batteries, but a square block type which may be expensive to replace in future.
I havent really tested the Answering machine so can comment on that aspect just yet.

All the same I bought them & I'm happy, I hope you are too. If not you can always send them back to Amazon.

These phones are made in Germany but come with an English instruction manual: which is very informative and easy to understand. There are 15 ring tones built in as standard. The clarity of sound is excellent: both via the answerphone and speaker and earphone system. The keys have a nice feel to them - they feel as if they have real springs behind them; also, they light up when the phone is in use - a nice orange colour. The duo set can be used as an internal intercom between the two handsets; also, the base station can be used to 'page' other phones. That facility allows one to discover where on has left a handset - it rings when the paging button is pushed. One of the most important things for me is that the phones have an 'eco' mode: the transmitting power can be reduced while the phones are on standby and when in use. The trade off is that the transmitting range is reduced of course. However, that is not necessarily a bad thing because the claimed normal range is: 50m indoors, 300m outdoors. One can also send sms; the alarm feature is nice too. The answerphone is capable of storing 25 minutes of incoming messages. The speakerphone has excellent clarity.

One small negative: there is an option to screw the units, bases, to the wall, but that would make them stick out quite a lot and would, I believe, make them likely to be accidentally knocked, causing the handsets to fall on the floor.

All in all, a great phone set: I hope that they last for many years.

Bought this because it is suppposed to have good sound! It is better then some but no good if there is some noise near by. why cant they make a phone with the same level of control as a mobile? 3/5

I got this for business use - we get food orders from chefs left overnight for delivery next day.

Sometimes the messages were unintelligible and we could not supply the goods (the vans go out before the chefs are back at work).

I was looking for good sound quality and the ability to easily replay bits over and over to make a best guess at what was being ordered.

The sound in this is good, better than our other one but a bit harsh.
The ability to press 'play' during playback to repeat the last 3 seconds is a brilliant feature. The machine is easy to use but the manual is not very clear.

I would highly recommend this to any similar business - it has solved 90% of the problems and taken the stress out of getting the orders off the answer machine.
