We bought this set for its room monitor mode, which is the same as a baby monitor except the reciever only goes off when the sending set hears a loud noise like shouting or knocking, which is what we needed for my wife who is disabled and may need my assistance during the night. All she has to do is shout for me without having to touch the handset and her call will be automatically sent to my set and upon hearing her voice i can go to her and assist. This is great if she falls and can not reach the set as she does not need to. also she can watch tv and i do not hear it from the set as the level is too low for it to send out to me so i can sleep while see enjoys tv late into the night. Excellent product well worth the money we paid for it.
